As part of the 2008 Festival Calendar, the Warriors Festival are organising a street parade that will coincide with the launch of the 2008 Festival on Sunday 4th May 2008. The parade will start at the Rugby Club at 3pm and end at the Beachfront, travelling via Buenos Aires Drive. We are inviting all sports, social, school and community groups in Strandhill and Coolera to participate in this unique fun event. The idea of the parade is to promote all groups with the Strandhill/Coolera peninsula in a vibrant, colourful and fun way and to add a festival atmosphere to the village and beachfront on the day.

To this end we have set out a number of guidelines for the staging of the parade.

. No commercial vehicles - cars, vans or trucks (other than floats) will be allowed enter parade with the exception of Warriors Festival Lead and Rear Safety Cars. Battery power vehicles will be allowed as will hand pulled/pushed floats or trolleys for themed entries. Horse drawn carts or trailers will also be allowed but placed to the rear of the parade.

. No commercial advertising allowed for businesses or products with the exception whereby a group get sponsorship from a business to design/build a float or costumes, the business will be allowed to be advertised on the groups banner (no bigger than 11.7 inches × 16.5 inches - A3 size).

. No political groups or advertising will be allowed.

. No offensive posters, slogans, costumes or banners allowed. The Warriors Committee reserve the right to remove any group, person or item which they deem may cause offence to others or embarrassment to the event.

. Groups involving children must provide at least one adult for every 5 children taking part in the parade. Children must be kept supervised at all times and must stay in formation whilst walking along the route.

. All participants must obey the instructions of the Safety Officer prior to the event and obey any instructions given along the way by him or any Warriors Festival Officials / Stewards.

Closing date for entries is Friday 28th March 2008.

There is no fee payable to enter the Parade however groups are responsible for any costs they incur with their entry (costumes, floats etc).
