When & Where Is The Warriors Run Held ?
The 26th Annual Warriors Run will take place on SATURDAY 28TH AUGUST 2010 at 3pm starting from the beachfront in Strandhill Village which is approximately 8 kilometres west of Sligo Town, in the North-West of Ireland.
What Is The Warriors Run ?
The Run is a competitive and gruelling 15 Kilometre road and hill race which takes runners from the beachfront at Strandhill to the top of Knocknarea mountain (1050ft) around the megalithic cairn known as Queen Meaves Grave and back to the beachfront again. Started in 1985, the Warriors Run has seen runners from all around Ireland and from over 20 different countries compete in one of Ireland's most unique races.
So if you think a 15K run is easy peasy, you've never been to Strandhill !!!
How Do I Enter The Race ?
Entering the 2010 Warriors Run can only be done through our ONLINE REGISTRATION section :
Must Be Registered ONLINE by MONDAY 23RD AUGUST 2010, 12 MIDNIGHT

Please note that due to the high levels of interest in the 26th Warriors Run, a cap on the number of entries will be placed for safety purposes so early registration is essential.
Can I Register In Person On The Morning Of The Race ?
PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO IN PERSON REGISTRATION THIS YEAR THEREFORE YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE.
Online you will be asked to complete a registration form and a nominal registration fee will be charged (€30.00). Please ensure you read the Terms & Conditions when registering and tick the box to complete registration.
Please note that if you register online you will still need to collect your race pack before 2.00pm on the day of the race in The Warriors Marquee.
What Do I Get For My Registration Fee ?
At registration you will receive a souvenir high quality souvenir T-Shirt with the Warriors Run Logo on it. Your race pack will also include a booklet with the race map, relevant information and directions and a voucher for post race refreshments. You will also have access to "The Runners Village" where you will get free access to post race showers, changing rooms and more. Further details available later.
What Are The Prize Categories ?
For the 26th Warriors Run, there is cash prizes and also other prizes allocated to the 1st Male and Female runners home. There will be prizes allocated for 2nd & 3rd Male and Female Runners Home, 1st Local Male & Female Runners (Strandhill Area Only) and 1st Veteran Male & Female Runners. There is also a Team Category.
What Are The Prizes ?
Our prize packages for this year will consist of beautiful specially commissioned Breeogue Pottery trophies in honour of the THE WARRIORS RUN, cash prizes, sportswear and other sporting goods amongst many other special prizes. There will also be plenty of spot prizes to be given out for all who take part this year.
Are The Any Restrictions For Running The Race ?
Yes. Please note that all entrants must be over the age of 16 years. Entrants under 18 years will require a parents or guardians signature on the race application on the day. Whilst there is no upper age limit we wish to remind ALL those thinking of entering that The Warriors Run is an extremely physically challenging race. We ask that those with medical conditions or ailments on the day NOT take part and we also ask that sufficient training for this race is done prior to the day. Broom Wagon will sweep at 2.5 hours.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU COLLECT YOU RACE PACK PRIOR TO 2.30PM ON SATURDAY 28TH AUGUST. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN THE WARRIORS APPLICATION AND INDEMNIFICATION FORM. THOSE WHO DO NOT COLLECT THEIR PACKS OR TRY TO RUN ON THE DAY ARE NOT CLASSED AS PARTICPANTS IN THE 2010 WARRIORS RUN.
